We walk your group through American Mahjong from the beginning to the end of play, then we play a couple games as time allows. Guided play means we peek over your shoulder as you play and answer questions as you go.
We also provide our American Mahjong guidebook which is a great reference as you continue playing at home.

We provide everything you need to play and learn, but there are a few items we don't include:

Food and drink — and this is why. We'd steer you away from heavy pours and meals during the lesson itself. Mahjong asks a lot of your brain and has a lot of delicate pieces, which don't pair well with heavy drinking or food.

Hi, I'm Rachel — founder of Moody Peach Mahjong Club, and proof that you can fall hard for a game in record time.
I picked up mahjong in early 2026. It was supposed to be just a fun girls' night. Instead, I was hooked almost immediately. Within two months I'd started a whole club, because I wanted more people at the table with me. These days I play 3-4 times a week and own nine+ full mahjong sets, which is either a healthy collection or a small problem, depending who you ask. (But don't ask my husband. Just kidding — he loves to play, too!)
I grew up here in North Atlanta, but I'm originally from Michigan, and I studied marketing and fashion merchandising at UGA — which, it turns out, is surprisingly good training for building a brand around a 100-year-old game. My background is in content and digital marketing (I run my own agency), so Moody Peach is a combination of two things I love: sharp creative work and a genuinely good time.
Games have always been a family love language for us. We're a big family, and Christmas morning reliably means a new game under the tree. This year's haul is shaping up to be a very, very mahjong Christmas. My kids are still toddlers, but they already light up at the sound of tiles shuffling, so I'd say the next generation is off to a good start.
I teach the way I learned to love the game: patiently, a little obsessively, and with the firm belief that anyone can pick this up at any table, on any night, if someone just shows them how.
